CHÁ x Art

Founded in 2021, CHAxART is an intercultural initiative where tea and art converge to foster dialogue and exchange in the Netherlands. Created by a new generation of overseas Chinese, it adopts an open and thoughtful approach to exploring the evolving dynamics between Eastern and Western cultures. Through exhibitions, tea gatherings, art salons, and publications, CHAxART examines themes of personal identity, community building, and cultural narratives. Each project inspires reflection on the complexities of integration and identity, contributing to a richer and more inclusive cultural landscape.

Beinglonging: New Trajectories in the Third Context

"Beinglonging: New Trajectories in the Third Context" explores the relationship between humans, nature, habitation, and migration, illustrating how individual experiences transcend cultural boundaries to form deep connections with nature and society. The exhibition presents a narrative akin to a port, a place of convergence and movement, bearing traces of migration and cultural fusion. Artists work within a "third context," a dynamic space that preserves differences while fostering resonance. Responding to the complexities of ecology and culture in a globalized world, they create works that reshape our relationship with nature through micro-perceptions.

Li Miao's woven works embody an "asymmetric" narrative logic, exploring the rhythm of life ideals through the disruption of balance.  captures fleeting light and warmth, transforming subtle moments through gentle breaths into art that pulses with life’s resonance. Luo Daishi, using copper as a medium, transcends material limitations to reveal the profound connections between time and nature.
