A former tannery, the Huidenclub—a dynamic space for art and design—will host a show on cultural hybridity in design, TAMI questioning institutions, and a listening room during the entirity of the Biennale by Jonas Lutz, featuring DJs, designers, and other creatives.

Nieuwe Instituut, the Netherlands national museum for architecture, design and digital culture, will host the main conference on the 19 February, a children’s workshop in the framework of “FamilieFest”, and a large-scale installation at its entrance. FamilieFest invites kids to become mini curators, selecting and showcasing their own seating creations.

Abandoned office spaces near Central Station host the Biennale’s Main exhibition redefining furniture as agents of change, a group show on innovative uses of plastic, a group show questioning ornamentation (curated by Barry Llewellyn), and a astonishing solo show by REM Atelier.

Audiovisual artist and composer Boris Acket presents Spaces Between Lines, a new site-specific intervention at the Kunsthal. Spanning the iconic ramp and HALL 6 display window, he is the first commissioned designer to integrate both the interior and exterior of the Rem Koolhaas building.

Spazio Viruly presents ‘Eco’, a group show featuring works by a dynamic group of designers, including Elvis Wesley, Siiri Oksanen, Merijn Haenen, Tim Mastik, Joshua Klappe, Sven Jansse, Maarten Diederix, Sudden Object Studio, and Ritsert Mans. The exhibition explores themes of sustainability and design innovation.

STORE STORE will be transformed into an exhibition space focused on glass. New experimental glassworks created by young designers (aged 15-20) during the Design Clubs, led by Rinke Joosten, Lorena Rode, and Nienke Sikkema, will be showcased. These works will be displayed alongside those of professional designers, fostering a dialogue between emerging and established talent.

Koehorst in ’t Veld, an editorial design practice, will curate a show at Voorhaven 57, a foundation housed in a unique 18th-century building in Delfshaven that provides studio space to creative talent in Rotterdam. The exhibition will feature works by design residents, including Phil Procter, Earnest Studio, and David Derksen, highlighting the innovative spirit fostered within its 20 studios.

CHAxART, a Chinese creative collective in the Netherlands, presents works by Miao Li, Daishi Luo, and Rabin Huissen. This series explores nature, craftsmanship, and material innovation, highlighting design as a balance between production and personal expression—a lens for interpreting life, nature, and the self.

Paskamer, a Rotterdam-based collective led by Alex Foradori, Jonas Hejduk, Pauline Rip, and Bianca Schick, presents “The Gift.” This curatorial experiment examines the concept of giving through objects, food design, and publications, showcasing works by residents Ned Kaar and Fabio Salvadori, along with contributions from the collective.
